Banijay Sets Communications Team for the Americas

Joe Schlosser Elevated to Executive Vice President, Communications, Banijay Americas
Jaycee Medina Named Vice President, Communications & Marketing

Janaury 13, 2021 — Veteran communications executive Joe Schlosser has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Communications, Banijay Americas and Jaycee Medina has been named Vice President, Communications and Marketing, it was announced today by Cris Abrego, Chairman of the Americas, Banijay and President and CEO, Endemol Shine Holdings.

Additionally, Abbey Maloney was promoted to Publicist, Banijay Americas. All three are based in the company’s North Hollywood, Ca. headquarters and work closely with Banijay’s UK-based group communications team.

Schlosser, who was previously Senior Vice President, Communications for Endemol Shine North America, has been with the Banijay-owned studio since 2012. He leads all external and internal communications efforts for the division across North America and Latin America, reporting to Abrego.

Medina, who was formerly Executive Director, Communications, Endemol Shine North America, now leads all marketing efforts for Banijay Americas in his new role.

Medina, who also joined the company in 2012, leads all day-to-day marketing responsibilities with network partners across all series campaigns and works closely with Banijay Rights, Banijay’s global distribution arm, on international marketing materials for produced series and B2B initiatives. 

“Joe is a strategic and well-respected professional who has done a tremendous job leading our communications efforts for many years now,” says Abrego. “I’m excited that Joe will continue in this role, working closely with me and our leadership team as we continue to expand our output across the Americas.”

Schlosser added, “Working alongside Cris and our teams here in the U.S. and across the Americas has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable roles of my career,” said Schlosser. “And I have been extremely fortunate to have had Jaycee here with me for nearly a decade now, helping lead all our comms and marketing efforts and keeping me in line on a daily basis.”

Based in Los Angeles, Schlosser leads all internal/external communications, talent relations, awards and events coordination and oversees communications efforts for nine different production labels, including Endemol Shine North America, Bunim/Murray Productions, Authentic Entertainment, Truly Original, 51 Minds Entertainment, Steven David Entertainment.

Additionally, he has communications oversight of Endemol Shine Latino, the company’s Spanish-language sales and development arm that leads all original programming initiatives across Latin America, including Mexico City-based studio Endemol Shine Boomdog, Banijay Mexico and U.S. Hispanic and Endemol Shine Brasil in Sao Paulo.

Schlosser oversees the studio’s publicity efforts for such series as MasterChef (FOX), Lego Masters (FOX), Big Brother (CBS), Wipeout (TBS), Below Deck (Bravo), Mira Quien Baila (Univision), Masked Singer Mexico (Televisa), LOL (Amazon) and many other hit series. 

Schlosser first joined the company in 2012 as Senior Vice President, Communications for Shine America, overseeing all corporate and consumer communications efforts for the U.S. division of the Shine Group. Before joining Shine, Schlosser spent 10 years with NBCUniversal in various top communications roles, including his last as Senior Vice President, NBC Entertainment Television Publicity, from November 2009-November 2012.
 
Medina has served as Executive Director, Communications, since January 2019. He originally joined the company in July 2012. He leads all consumer press/publicity, awards campaigns and talent relations across Endemol Shine North America’s unscripted series.

Medina also oversees corporate and consumer PR for Endemol Shine North America’s brand integrations, licensing partnerships and ancillary consumer products group. He has developed comprehensive launch campaigns for products and partners across the board, including numerous initiatives for the MasterChef franchise, Wipeout and Deal or No Deal.

In addition, Medina leads the company’s day-to-day internal communications efforts and oversees its quarterly newsletters, website, employee events and community outreach. He is also Co-Chair of Banijay’s LGBTQ+ global network, Banijay Pride, in North America.

Maloney joined the company in June of 2019 as Coordinator, Communications and has worked on the launch campaigns of shows such as “LEGO Masters,” “Marriage or Mortgage,” “Wipeout,” and more. In addition to show publicity, she works across corporate and internal communications for Banijay Americas. Maloney began her career at BWR Public Relations and Prodigy Public Relations before joining the team at ESNA.
