Endemol Shine Boomdog Brings Biggest Production Slate Ever to LA Screenings 2019

May 13, 2019—Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Endemol Shine North America, is bringing its biggest production slate ever to LA Screenings 2019, including co-productions with Televisa Studios of hit formats “The Masked Singer” and “Family Food Fight.”

The leading independent Spanish-language studio in Mexico and the U.S. Hispanic marketplace, Endemol Shine Boomdog is behind some of the most popular series in the region on such leading networks and streaming platforms as Televisa, Univision, Netflix, Amazon, Telemundo, Azteca, HBO, MTV, Comedy Central, E! and more.

This Sunday, the studio is launching the second season of “MasterChef Latino” on Telemundo and pre-production is underway on the fifth season of hit “MasterChef Mexico” with Azteca.

Endemol Shine Boomdog’s team will also be showcasing numerous scripted projects at LA Screenings, including “El Asesor,” an action thriller with award-winning actor Mauricio Ochmann and his production company A Toda Madre Entertainment. 
Alongside BTF and Sony Music Spain, Boomdog is also producing a documentary and scripted series based on the life of iconic Spanish musician Joaquin Sabina. Award-winning director and screenwriter Fernando Leon de Aranoa is attached to both Sabina projects.

Alongside Somos TV, Boomdog is also producing a scripted series based on famed Latin boy band Menudo, as well as “Juan Diego: The Story of Guadalupe,” the first-ever series based on Saint Juan Diego, the first Mexican-born Roman Catholic Saint. And parent company Endemol Shine North America and Major TV are developing drama “Celia Cruz: My Life,” based on the Latin superstar’s best-selling autobiography and have attached Kenny Ortega as an executive producer.

“We are coming to the LA Screenings with our strongest slate of programming to date, a mix of exciting scripted and unscripted programming with some of the biggest names in the industry,” says Endemol Shine Boomdog CEO Alejandro Rincon.

Earlier this year, Endemol Shine Boomdog announced an unprecedented co-production and development deal with Televisa Studios to produce both scripted and unscripted programming together, including “The Masked Singer,” “Family Food Fight,” “Me Caigo de Risa” and upcoming action series “Hijos de Tigre.”

Endemol Shine Boombdog and Televisa have licensed “The Masked Singer” from Mun Hwa Broadcasting Corp. (MBC) in South Korea. Both companies will produce and adapt the hit format for the Spanish speaking market. Endemol Shine North America and Smart Dog Media recently produced the breakout first season of “The Masked Singer” for FOX in the U.S.

“Family Food Fight” is a co-production with Endemol Shine Boomdog and Televisa. The format was originally created by Endemol Shine Australia, where it was renewed for a second season last year by Channel Nine Australia.  “Family Food Fight” has also sold in the U.S., where Endemol Shine North America’s version is set to debut on ABC June 20. Mexico is the second country in Latin America to produce the format, after its successful Argentine adaptation, broadcast last year by Telefe.

Endemol Shine Boomdog also produces such hit series as “Chumel Con Chumel” (HBO), “Mira Quien Baila” (Televisa/Univision), “Nicky Jam: El Ganador” (Netflix/Telemundo) and “LOL” (Amazon).
