Adrian Sexton Named Interim President And Chief Operating Officer For Endemol Beyond USA

August 19, 2015 - Adrian Sexton has been named Interim President and Chief Operating Officer for Endemol Beyond USA, Endemol Shine North America’s premium content network, it was announced today by Vivi Zigler, President, Digital, Brand & Audience Development, Endemol Shine North America.

Sexton has served as Chief Operating Officer for Endemol Beyond since September 2014. In addition, Rico Martinez has renewed his contract and has been named Senior Vice President, Creative, Endemol Beyond USA. Leslie Morgan, who leads all lifestyle programming, has been named Vice President, Programming for Endemol Beyond USA.

Jeff Browning, Senior Vice President, Sales, continues to oversee all ad sales efforts for Endemol Beyond USA and has added oversight of integrated marketing and social amplification. Martinez, Morgan and Browning all now report to Sexton.

Will Keenan, who had served as President of Endemol Beyond USA, is set to leave the company after two years. Keenan oversaw the successful U.S. launch of Endemol Beyond, Endemol Shine Group’s global digital video network, helping attract some of the top digital talent in the industry including Michelle Phan and Toby Turner.

Endemol Beyond USA recently launched the ICON Network, the first worldwide Premium Lifestyle Network with digital pioneer Phan and it’s set to launch eSports and gaming Smasher Network later this fall with Turner as host of its flagship series “Legends of Gaming.”

“Adrian has a wealth of experience, having already led some of the top digital studios in our industry and he’s done a terrific job as our COO since joining Endemol Beyond USA last fall,” said Zigler. “And I’m thrilled Rico and Leslie will continue to oversee our programming initiatives, having successfully launched ICON Network earlier this year and now planning and developing content for the debut of Smasher Network in the fall.”

Zigler added, “Clearly we are all going to miss Will and we truly appreciate everything that he has done to successfully launch Endemol Beyond here in the U.S.”

Since joining Endemol Beyond USA last September as COO, Sexton has overseen strategic partnerships and investments, business development, strategy, sales and all distribution opportunities. As the former digital head of two media companies, Lionsgate and Participant Media, and founder of two media strategy and marketing agencies, Sexton has a hybrid background in strategic marketing and business development.

Sexton was previously head of digital at Participant Media, where he was the architect behind the next generation social action network and worked on Oscar-winning titles An Inconvenient Truth and The Cove. Prior to that, Sexton was head of digital and business development at Lionsgate, where he was part of the senior team managing studio transactions, as well as Oscar-winning creative interactive campaigns for Crash and Monster’s Ball, and winning a Clio for the SAW franchise which generated over $1 billion worldwide. Sexton is also responsible for co-founding TAG Strategic and New Medici agencies, which worked with Ogilvy, the Producers Guild of America, Universal Pictures, Fox, Sony and Disney among others.

Sexton delivered the inaugural Opening Forum keynote at the 60th Anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival, and has been named a “Backstage Digital All-Star” by the Screen Actors Guild. He started his career in television creative at HBO Pictures and at Sony Television under Jon Feltheimer.

Rico Martinez initially joined Endemol Beyond USA in January 2014. A veteran film and TV producer/director, Martinez now oversees all programming initiatives for Endemol Beyond USA.

Prior to joining Endemol Beyond USA, Martinez worked in programming development for Maker Studios, where he developed several series including “In Transition,” a scripted comedy starring comedian/actress Margaret Cho, and “Oh, You Pretty Things!,” a scripted drama in conjunction with Nylon TV about 20-something musicians, artists and fashion bloggers trying to make it in Los Angeles, starring Francesca Eastwood.

Martinez has written, executive produced and directed shows for MTV, VH-1, WB, NBC, Fox, Oxygen, CMT, A&E, WE tv, Lifetime and History Channel. He created and served as an executive producer for VH-1’s “The Cho Show” – a critically acclaimed hybrid-reality sitcom series, starring Margaret Cho.  He also executive produced and directed an MTV special for the popular video game ROCKBAND, and several series including “Downtown Girls” for MTV, “A Stand up Mother” for WE tv, “Best Ink,” a competition-elimination reality series for Oxygen and “The Great Santini Brothers” for History Channel.

As Vice President, Programming, Leslie Morgan oversees all of Endemol Beyond USA’s lifestyle programming efforts, including the recent launch of ICON Network. Prior to joining Endemol Beyond USA, Morgan was the Executive Producer of FAWN, Michelle Phan’s premium lifestyle channel, which received funding from Google from 2011-2013. During her time at FAWN, Morgan produced a variety of lifestyle programs and worked with such brands as L’Oreal, Victoria Secret, Air New Zealand, Contiki Travel, Nintendo, and Ebay.

Morgan has an extensive background in the digital space, working with brands such as Kraft, Clorox, Unilever, Palm Pre Technology, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt and others to create award-winning branded video campaigns and communities. She won a Silver Telly Award for her work on the Kraft Real Women of Philadelphia digital campaign that helped grow Kraft’s Philadelphia Cream Cheese sales.
