Alejandro Rincon, CEO, Endemol Shine Boomdog
Alejandro Rincon was named CEO, Endemol Shine Boomdog, in November 2017.
Rincon oversees the Mexico City-based TV production studio behind many of the top series in Mexico, Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. Endemol Shine Boomdog is a division of Banijay, the world’s largest international content producer and distributor.
Endemol Shine Boomdog is behind many of the top-rated Spanish-language series in both the U.S. and Mexico, including Mira Quién Baila (Univision), MasterChef Mexico (TV Azteca), Se Rentan Cuartos (Comedy Central Latin America), La Casa de los Famosos (Telemundo), ¿Quién Es La Máscara? (Televisa), Súbete a Mi Moto (Amazon), Tu Cara Me Suena (Univison) and the upcoming scripted series Todo por Lucy (Amazon) and A Beautiful Lie (Pantaya).
Boomdog has an overall development deal with award-winning actress and producer Kate del Castillo ("La Reina del Sur") and her team at Cholawood Productions, who recently announced the series "A Beautiful Lie" for Pantaya. Earlier this year, Endemol Shine Boomdog announced the formation of Wide Angle, a Mexico City-based post-production facility servicing third-party clients.
Rincon, with his partner Carlos Perna, originally founded Boomdog in 1997 in Caracas, Venezuela, and began operating in Mexico in 2007. In 2017, Endemol Shine Boomdog was formed, bringing together Banijay-owned Endemol Shine North America’s U.S. Hispanic team with Rincon and Perna’s Mexican TV production company, Boomdog.
Rincon led Boomdog to build its own studio in Mexico City under an alliance with Sony Pictures. Mexico’s Next Top Model was the first production to be filmed in the new studios. Since then, the studio has been the set of choice for many movies and television shows in Mexico including MasterChef and MasterChef Jr.
In 2010, Boomdog teamed with E! Entertainment Television, now part of the NBCUniversal group, to produce many of their franchise shows in Mexico, including E! Latin News, La Sopa, Fashion Police and How Do I Look.
Rincon and his family currently reside in Mexico City.
