Endemol Shine Brasil Enjoys Banner Year Across Its Digital Properties

Banijay-owned Studio Sees 320% Revenue Growth Year-Over-Year 

Launched More Than 26 Digital Channels Across Latin America

March 30, 2021 – Endemol Shine Brasil, part of Banijay, today announces it has enjoyed a successful year across its rapidly growing digital properties, seeing revenue grow by 320% year-over-year.

Since 2019, São Paulo-based Endemol Shine Brasil has been leading all digital initiatives for Banijay’s entire portfolio throughout most of Latin America, transforming the vast territory into an industry-leading case where successful IP has no boundaries and new business solutions are being created for the studio’s partners. 

2020 was clearly a tough year for many globally, but Endemol Shine Brasil was able to successfully harness Brasil and numerous other Latin territories’ insatiable appetite for all things digital across its 26 different channels on major content platforms like YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. The team in Brasil worked closely with Michelle Wasserman, Senior Vice President, Brasil, Latin America and U.S. Hispanic for Banijay Rights, to expand its digital reach across the region.

In 2020, the team created and led the design of 26 channels on major content platforms. On YouTube alone, the team published more than 4,800 videos, where revenue on the platform grew by over 320%. Due to these efforts, the Latin American channels on YouTube managed by Endemol Shine Brasil grew more than 360% in volume of views compared to the previous year. In addition, on Facebook, views grew by more than 156% in watch time in 2020.

The team generated new digital business opportunities for hit LatAm television formats such as MasterChef Colombia by RCN Televisión, Yo Soy Perú by Latina Televisión, MasterChef Argentina by Telefé, transforming Banijay Brasil's footprint into a complete solution for 21 different LatAm clients.

One of the most successful versions of MasterChef globally, MasterChef Celebrity Argentina, recently launched its latest season with great success on Telefe and was followed by the most engaged channel of the format in Latin America. With 1,054 videos published on social platforms by Endemol Shine Brasil, MasterChef Celebrity Argentina’s 2020 season reached more than 107 million views on YouTube and 2.3 million views on Facebook.
