Second Season Of Endemol Shine Beyond's Hit eSports Series "Legends Of Gaming" Debuts Today
April 7, 2016 - Endemol Shine Beyond’s SMASHER Network is set to launch the second season of its hit eSports series “Legends of Gaming” today featuring many of the hottest YouTube gamers from across the country and a first-of-its-kind virtual reality experience.
Produced at YouTube Space Los Angeles with Pizza Hut once again on board as its lead brand partner, the second season of “Legends of Gaming” will pit eight of the nation’s top gamers competing in a newly designed, six-round tournament featuring 24 of the hottest games.
The new season of “Legends of Gaming” is hosted by YouTube and Twitch gaming sensation Syndicate, aka Tom Cassell (11 million subscribers). Syndicate was formerly a player in both the U.S. and UK’s first seasons of “Legends of Gaming.”
Season two features several “Legends” veterans, TmarTn (4.6 million subscribers) and Terroriser (1.4 million), who both participated in the U.S. edition’s first season. New players include Reckless Tortuga (1.2 million), Gassy Mexican (1.5 million), Moo Snuckel (1.6 million), Misses Mae (400,000), mcsportzhawk (500,000) and TheZombiUnicorn (200,000).

The second season kicks off this week with a “Legends of Gaming” first for the global format: both video game play and player introductions in 360. In addition, and also in VR, season one host Toby Turner returns and alongside Syndicate, the two take on a pair of lucky fans in Super Mario Kart. Viewers can get the full immersive VR experience through the YouTube mobile app or by using Google cardboard.
“Legends of Gaming” is based on the Endemol Shine Beyond UK format of the same name, which debuted in 2014 and will be launching its fourth season shortly. The UK version of “Legends of Gaming” has attracted nearly 70 million views and is the region’s fastest-growing gaming digital channel. In addition to the U.S. and UK, the “Legends of Gaming” format has successfully launched locally in France, Germany, Chile and Brazil.
