Endemol Shine Boomdog
Endemol Shine Boomdog is the new Spanish-language division of Endemol Shine North America, developing and producing original content for the U.S. Hispanic and Mexican TV markets. The division was formed in November 2017, when Endemol Shine Latino joined forces with Mexico City-based production company Boomdog to form Endemol Shine Boomdog.
Alejandro Rincon, who was formerly CEO of Boomdog, now serves as CEO of Endemol Shine Boomdog, reporting to Endemol Shine Latino President Laurens Drillich, who oversees all of Endemol Shine’s business operations in Latin America.
Endemol Shine Boomdog produces some of the top unscripted and scripted series in the region, including “Mira Quien Baila” for Univision, “MasterChef Latino” for Telemundo, “El Vato” for Universo/Netflix, as well as “MasterChef Mexico” for TV Azteca and “Chumel con Chumel Torres” for HBO. Upcoming series include drama series “Nicky Jam: El Ganador” for Telemundo/Netflix, “Love Clicks” for Telemundo.com and dramas “To Selena with Love,” “El Clan” and “Subete a Mi Moto—The History of Menudo.”
Boomdog and Endemol Shine Latino had been co-producing series in the region together for several years, including hit scripted series “El Vato” for Universo, “Gran Hermano” for Telemundo and “MasterChef Mexico” for TV Azteca.
In the U.S. Hispanic market, Endemol Shine Boomdog is producing a number of series for Telemundo, including the first-ever Spanish-language version of “MasterChef” in the U.S. (“MasterChef Latino”) and unscripted digital series, “Love Clicks 24/7” for Telemundo.com. The studio is also currently producing “Mira Quién Baila” for Univision.
Boomdog, which has been the leading independent producer in Mexico for some time, has produced many of the country’s top unscripted and scripted series including the hit HBO talk show “Chumel con Chumel Torres,” “La Sopa,” “Mexico’s Next Top Model,” “El Incorrecto,” “Impractical Jokers Mexico,” “Fashion Police Mexico,” “Cambiame el Look” and many others.
Endemol Shine Boomdog is also producing “El Clan” with DNF Pictures, a scripted series based on Maria Raquenel Portillo’s forthcoming autobiography that tells the behind-the-scenes story of the biggest scandal in Latin music history. And the studio recently announced, that alongside Somos Productions and Piñolywood Studios, it is producing the first-ever scripted drama series based on the most successful Latin boy band of all time, Menudo.
And Endemol Shine Boomdog and Major TV have also optioned the TV rights to Chris Perez’s “To Selena With Love,” the best-selling book that tells the late Latin music superstar’s love story through the eyes of her husband.
